Chelsea plan mega money Pogba bid

Premier League giants Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of French midfield enforcer Paul Pogba as they look to add more steel to their midfield as Jose Mourinho plans a complete overhaul of the club’s midfield line and is planning a massive offer to lure Juventus into selling their prized asset.

The Blues are putting together a wage package that will completely blow rivals like Manchester United and Arsenal out of the water and are planning a swoop of £ 60 million to force the hands of the Italian giants into selling the French international.

According to reports, having already signed Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona for £ 30 million already this summer, the Portuguese manager is keen to add Pogba to his central midfield options and he plans to pair the Frenchman with Nemanja Matic, who returned to the club in January in a new look midfield.

Mourinho wants Fabregas to occupy the number ten role and use the Frenchman and the Serbian as holding midfielders but with Pogba’s tendency to bomb forward, Mourinho also hopes to add goals to the Chelsea after the departure of club legend Frank Lampard.

Having already let high earners like Lampard and Ashley Cole and selling David Luiz for a whopping £ 50 million to Paris Saint Germain, the club has money to burn and want to bring the former Manchester United youngster back to the Premier League.

Pogba is also keen on returning to the Premier League where he didn’t get a chance to establish himself for United under Sir Alex Ferguson but new United boss Louis van Gaal has also asked the club to match any offer Chelsea for the talented young midfielder after the additions of Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera and young Southampton full back Luke Shaw to their ranks.

Chelsea Struggles With Lower Teams

Jose Mourinho has claimed that his players have been performing up and down in some of the matches and this has led them to being ousted out of the title race with six matches remaining in the campaign. Chelsea lost the recent match against Crystal Palace 1-0, it was the second consecutive away defeat for the team. It has left them third in the table with only six matches remaining in the league season. After performing exceptionally well against Arsenal last weekend, Chelsea were brought back to the earth with this defeat.

The team has done exceptionally against top teams like Manchester city and Arsenal, but they have struggled to replicate the same form and intensity in matches against lower opposition. Mourinho says that he is disappointed with the attitude of the players, while he is also reportedly preparing a clear out in the summer. Even though this defeat has put them out of the title race – in the words of the manager himself, Mourinho says that he will not have troubles motivating his players ahead of the Champions League quarter-final match against PSG.

This remains a final opportunity to win a trophy this season, although the presence of heavyweights like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid has put Chelsea’s outsiders to win the title.

“I don’t need to do a lot now, because Paris is the kind of match they feel comfortable to play. A big match, a great stadium, opponents with top quality, the profile of referee – even if I prefer the English ones – who stops [the game] a lot and doesn’t allow aggression. They will be fine. They will be in their natural habitat in that match. They can do a good match there. Playing against Arsenal or City, United or Liverpool is one thing and another thing is to play Palace or West Bromwich or Stoke away,” said the Chelsea boss.
